May 20th Update from the Scott Healey Campaign Trail

This week Scott attended the final local debate in Ottawa Centre, another  multi-issue debate with questions focussing on healthcare, affordability, climate action and local development. We would like to thank the community associations for organizing and hosting these events and giving Scott a chance to talk to Ottawa Centre residents.

We are hearing from many voters who are not happy with how NDP MPP Joel Harden has represented them. They feel he has been too downtown-centric and doesn’t represent the entire riding.

As your MPP, Scott will give his full attention to every neighbourhood in Ottawa Centre. Yes, the downtown has unique issues, but doesn’t every neighbourhood in Ottawa Centre?

Now that we are slowly moving past the pandemic, it’s time to get down to the important business of growing the economy and creating a business atmosphere that will support the continued reopening of Ontario and create new good paying jobs. The Liberals and NDP ignore the reality that we can’t keep giving away money for gimmicky promises like ‘buck a ride” for transit with the remainder of each fare – billions of dollars each year – coming from your tax dollars, whether you use the LRT and OC Transpo or not.

We just relaunched our campaign website, with a new design and new ways for voters to interact with Scott.  You can record a video testimony telling us why you are supporting Scott. Also, there is a new FAQ page where you can ask a question, Scott will reply and we will post the answer.  Please visit the website and see what’s new.

I am going to let you in on a little secret!  We are holding a BBQ to support Scott in his campaign on the last Sunday of May. Tickets are $100. Because Elections Ontario must be informed of the event, I can’t give all the details and payment arrangements just yet. You will be receiving notice of this in the coming days.

This BBQ will raise some of the money we need to get Scott over the finish line on the June 2.
